Dumfries House

That this House celebrates the success of the campaign to secure Dumfries House, in East Ayrshire, for the benefit of the nation; notes the importance of this architectural gem in offering huge potential for regeneration of the local area; applauds the work of SAVE Britain's Heritage in launching the campaign and The Art Fund in securing the purchase; recognises with gratitude the contribution made by HRH The Prince of Wales, the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the Scottish Executive among others; and looks forward to the opening of the property to the public in 2008.
