Promotion Of Local Football
EDM number 1838 in 2006-07, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 04/07/2007.
That this House recognises the continuing work by many people across the United Kingdom in the promotion and development of local football as, in contrast with the billions being poured into Premiership football, lower divisions in England and Scotland along with league clubs in Northern Ireland and Wales receive comparatively little; commends those who, mostly in a voluntary capacity, dedicate themselves to promoting actively the national game; and calls upon the Government, devolved legislatures and private sponsors to assist in this promotion over the coming years.
This motion has been signed by a total of 41 MPs.
