Banning Of Video Game By The British Board Of Film Classification
EDM number 1744 in 2006-07, proposed by Keith Vaz on 21/06/2007.
That this House welcomes the decision by the British Board of Film Classification to ban the game Manhunt 2 from being sold in the UK; further welcomes the decision to withdraw from sale another video game which used footage of the abduction of James Bulger; believes that games depicting extreme, realistic and graphic violence can damage the social development of children and young adults; and further believes that video games companies should better recognise their social responsibilities when they design a new game.
