Architecture Week

EDM number 1725 in 2006-07, proposed by Hugo Swire on 18/06/2007.

That this House welcomes Architecture Week, taking place across the UK from 15th to 24th June; notes that it will focus on the critical issues of sustainability and the environment with the theme of How Green is our Space?; commends the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Arts Council and the Architecture Centre Network for their organisation of the week; further congratulates RIBA members for their participation in the ever-popular RIBA Architect in the House scheme to be run in partnership with Shelter; looks forward to the other various events, including film screenings, walks, tours, talks, building-visits, exhibitions, excavations, excursions and children's activities which will be taking place across the country this summer; and praises the leading contribution made by British architects to society and the environment both in the United Kingdom and abroad.
