Test Match Special

EDM number 1645 in 2006-07, proposed by Andrew George on 07/06/2007.

That this House notes that for 50 years now Test Match Special has informed and entertained a wide spectrum of listeners who have appreciated the ball by ball coverage of cricket test matches; urges the programme makers to maintain the efforts to keep the show informative, entertaining, impartial, inclusive and accessible to listeners: encourages BBC Radio 4 to resist any attempts to alter fundamentally the successful formula and not to be seduced by proposals to modernise in the belief that this might attract a more partisan listener; and calls upon listeners to congratulate Test Match Special on the programme's 50th anniversary and to wish it continued success for the next half century.

This motion has been signed by a total of 42 MPs.
