Medical Training
EDM number 1564 in 2006-07, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 23/05/2007.
That this House notes the trial observations in the Legal Remedy UK and Secretary of State for Health High Court case CO/3360/2007 in paragraphs 139 and 140, which include the statement `The premature introduction of MTAS has had disastrous consequences. It was a flawed system in the ways I have indicated.', as well as indicating that many junior doctors might have an entirely justifiable sense of grievance including possibly good grounds for appeal or a good case before an employment tribunal; and would welcome the decision of the Secretary of State not to pursue costs against the applicant.
