School Trips Plus Messaging System

EDM number 1530 in 2006-07, proposed by Jeremy Browne on 22/05/2007.

That this House welcomes the introduction of the School Trips Plus messaging system; congratulates North Town Community Primary School in Taunton constituency for its enterprise in being one of the first schools to take up this initiative; believes that child safety during school trips is of paramount importance; applauds providing each child from a participating school with a lanyard and disc or a wristband with a telephone number and school code to enable teachers to be contacted immediately via their mobile telephone in the event of a child being lost or injured during a school trip; and commends the support this service has gained from both the National Association of Head Teachers and the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations.
