Shropshire Ambulance Service
EDM number 1404 in 2006-07, proposed by Daniel Kawczynski on 02/05/2007.
That this House is concerned that the review by the West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking to close one or more of the ambulance control rooms in the West Midlands; notes that the more rural county areas are under greatest threat of losing their control room; believes that the local knowledge of the experienced control room staff is not replaceable by modern technology and that such closures would endanger patient safety; and urges the Secretary of State for Health to intervene to prevent the closure of the rural control rooms such as Shropshire.
