Museums And Galleries Month

EDM number 1388 in 2006-07, proposed by Hugo Swire on 01/05/2007.

That this House congratulates the Campaign for Museums on the success of Museums and Galleries Month since its inception in 2000; looks forward to Museums and Galleries Month 2007, which runs from 1st to 31st May; fully supports the aims of Museums and Galleries Month in increasing the number of visitors to museums and galleries, raising the profile of museums and galleries and creating lasting benefits for those working in museums and galleries; encourages as many museums as possible to take part in the Night of the Museum on 19th May, when 50 museums and galleries nationwide, from the Dulwich Picture Gallery to the Scottish Fisheries Museum, will be screening the film Night at the Museum; and further notes and congratulates London's museums and galleries in initiating Lates, the first ever city-wide season of late night openings in London, which coincides with Museums and Galleries Month.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
