Women In Iran
EDM number 1382 in 2006-07, proposed by Katy Clark on 30/04/2007.
That this House is concerned that the Iranian police have launched a crackdown on women's dress; is appalled that women are being arrested because of what they are wearing; believes that many Iranian women are scared to venture out onto the streets for fear of arrest; and further believes that Iranian women should be able to make choices about the clothes they wear without interference from the state and that such choices are a basic human right.
