United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child
EDM number 1352 in 2006-07, proposed by Annette Brooke on 25/04/2007.
That this House welcomes the decision of the United Kingdom Government to sign the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings; looks forward to its subsequent ratification; further argues that the United Kingdom Reservation to the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child on immigration and nationality is contradictory to the signing of the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings and only serves to undermine efforts to tackle trafficking; and therefore calls for it to be withdrawn immediately.
This motion has been signed by a total of 80 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
