Construction Workers Lobby For Employment Rights

EDM number 1243 in 2006-07, proposed by John McDonnell on 28/03/2007.

That this House welcomes the trade union lobby of Parliament held on 28th March seeking support for employment rights for construction workers; and calls upon the Government to address the trade unions' agenda calling for increased direct employment, compliance with national agreements, full implementation of the Posted Worker's Directive and enactment of the Agency Workers Bill in order to ensure significant improvements in pay, conditions of employment and health and safety for construction workers.
