EDM number 118 in 2006-07, proposed by Susan Kramer on 16/11/2006.
That this House recognises the growing need to tackle noise pollution from helicopters in London; is concerned by the findings of the London Assembly's recent Environmental Committee Report, London in a Spin-a Review of Helicopter Noise, which states that helicopter movements over London have increased by 20 per cent. in four years; is further concerned about the disturbance and loss of quality of life this causes to many Londoners; welcomes the Committee's recommendations; calls on the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority to adopt those recommendations, including charging for use of the Capital's air space, and the collection for the first time of accurate and reliable data on helicopter movements over London; and urges the Department for Transport to implement a full review of helicopter movements and noise in London in the next 12 months.
