Evidence Before Select Committees

EDM number 1173 in 2006-07, proposed by Gordon Prentice on 20/03/2007.

That this House notes the observation of the former Cabinet Secretary, Lord Turnbull, on the role of the Chancellor of the Exchequer in shaping Government policy; regrets that these insights were not disclosed to the Public Administration Select Committee when he appeared before it on a number of occasions as Cabinet Secretary, thereby allowing hon. Members to question him on his real views; and further believes that witnesses called before select committees should be required to give evidence on oath.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
