Binge Drinking

EDM number 1157 in 2006-07, proposed by Hugo Swire on 19/03/2007.

That this House is concerned about the rise of binge drinking and the effects on the health of individuals and the impact on quality of life that this problem causes; believes that education has an important role to play in reducing the problem of binge drinking; continues to support the pub trade's efforts to curb irresponsible drinking and promotions; supports the Challenge 21 initiative; calls for greater enforcement of the law regarding sales to those under 18 years old; and believes that all licensed retailers, insofar as they do promote alcohol sales, should do so in a socially responsible way.

This motion has been signed by a total of 43 MPs.
