Cctv At Railway Stations
EDM number 1115 in 2006-07, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 13/03/2007.
That this House notes with concern the number of assaults on both members of the public and staff at railway stations, combined with other regular incidents of anti-social behaviour; recognises that people need to feel safe if they are to be encouraged to use the train in addition to highlighting the importance of safety for people at work; believes that CCTV cameras can help go a long way to deterring criminal activity and anti-social behaviour; and calls on the Government to make more funds available for the introduction of CCTV cameras on railway stations both in urban and rural areas.
