LONDON'S FREEDOM PASS
EDM number 1084 in 2006-07, proposed by Tom Brake on 08/03/2007.
That this House notes the stalwart and continuing support of the Freedom Pass in London by Liberal Democrats here and in another place, in the London Assembly and in the London boroughs that are led or controlled by Liberal Democrats; commends the action of Liberal Democrat Lord Bradshaw in moving amendments to the Concessionary Bus Travel Bill which would protect London's council taxpayers by giving borough councils the right of appeal to the Secretary of State against any unfair or predatory financial settlement by the Mayor of London and Transport for London acting as judge and jury in their own interest; and deplores the shameful attempt by the Mayor's Office and the Labour Party in London to claim that Liberal Democrats are trying to abolish the Freedom Pass, which is greatly valued by them and by many Londoners.
This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
