Hendon Post Office

EDM number 916 in 2005-06, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 01/11/2005.

That this House expresses its deep concern over the proposals by the Post Office to franchise the Brent Street, Hendon, Crown post office; notes that some 3,600 people per week use the branch; further notes that the Post Office has refused point blank to give any statistical or financial details to enable the decision to be challenged; further notes that the Post Office has not justified its claim that the Crown post office in Hendon loses money; recognises that the previous franchising of the Edgware post office has not been a success, with many complaints of poor levels of service; and calls upon the Post Office to abandon its unwelcome, unjustified and unpopular proposal to franchise the post office at Hendon forthwith.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
