Scottish Olympic Team

That this House notes the campaign by C-ScOT to secure a separate Scottish team to participate in the 2012 London Olympics; further notes that this is a campaign that is supported by 78 per cent. of the Scottish people as found in an independent opinion poll; further notes that there is no legal or practical obstacle to prohibit Scotland participating under its own flag; believes that this could only be beneficial to Scottish sport and could help deliver SportScotland's Sport21 target to have 60 per cent. of Scots participating in sport by 2020; encourages all sports organisations and athletes to participate in this campaign; and hopes that as many people as possible will sign the petitions to achieve a Scottish team.
