Advertising Standards Authority Decision On British Nuclear Group
EDM number 868 in 2005-06, proposed by Colin Challen on 26/10/2005.
That this House notes that the Advertising Standards Authority has rejected the honourable Member for Morley and Rothwell's complaint against the British Nuclear Group advertisement which appeared in the New Statesman on 26th September under the heading, `Decommissioning Berkeley showed that one new British business has a clear future', and which contained a photograph which purported to show how British Nuclear Group had returned the site of the former Berkeley nuclear power station to a greenfield site; further notes that this advertisement was the subject of other complaints; and calls upon British Nuclear Group, despite the adjudication of the Advertising Standards Authority, not to use electronically manipulated photographs in its advertisements without disclaimers in the future.
