Tribute To Rosa Parks

EDM number 847 in 2005-06, proposed by Sadiq Khan on 25/10/2005.

That this House notes with great sadness the death of US civil rights icon Rosa Parks; recognises that by refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery on 1st December 1955 she inspired the start of the US civil rights movement; and further notes that this act was courageous and vitally important in the struggle for justice and equality in the US and elsewhere.
