EDM number 789 in 2005-06, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 18/10/2005.

That this House congratulates Major Colin Risso and Major John Perez of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment on receiving awards in the latest operational Honours List for their presence of mind whilst serving on operations last year; notes that Major Risso received the Military Cross for actions he took when his convoy came under attack in Afghanistan, and Major Perez received the American Bronze Star award for meritorious service on a high intensity combat zone during Operation Iraqi Freedom; further notes that Major Perez remains the only British officer to have led a United States Marine Corps unit in Iraq; pays tribute to both men for their bravery and sense of duty under extremely difficult circumstances; and recognises the role of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment for its loyal service to the UK armed forces over many years.
