Open Skies For Regional Airports
EDM number 780 in 2005-06, proposed by Graham Stringer on 18/10/2005.
That this House welcomes the Government's acceptance of the recommendation of the Civil Aviation Authority's report, An Economic Assessment of the Impacts of Granting Fifth Freedom Rights to Passenger Services from UK Regional Airports, which will lead to the development of new inter-continental routes from regional airports, resulting in a relief of congestion in the South East and economic benefits within the UK's regions; and believes that the successful implementation of this policy should lead the Government to unilaterally declare a completely open skies policy for the UK's regional airports.
