Success Of Matt Neal In The British Touring Car Championship

EDM number 771 in 2005-06, proposed by Richard Burden on 17/10/2005.

That this House congratulates the West Midlands driver Matt Neal on winning the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC); recognises that the BTCC is one of the premier motor sport series in the UK and that this is the first time since 1991 that the series has been won by an independent team; congratulates Team Halfords-Team Dynamics, based at Rimstock Plc in West Bromwich; and believes that its successes both in motor sport and as a manufacturer of wheels for the mainstream automotive industry are examples of the world class innovation and skills displayed by the small and medium-sized companies which are the cornerstone of the UK's performance engineering industry.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
