leave out from `UK' to end and insert 'recognises the role of snaring in conservation wildlife management; further notes that snaring conducted in accordance with the law and the British Association for Shooting and Conservation's (BASC) code of practice is selective, legal, humane and carried out with respect for quarry; further notes that legal free running snares restrain and do not kill the target species and may only be used by an authorised person within the terms of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981; condemns anyone breaking the established EU and British law on snaring; and congratulates the Government on its initiatives to improve practice and its establishment of the Independent Working Group on snares convened by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs which brings together welfare interests and practitioners including the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare, British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, RSPCA, The Royal Veterinary College, The Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (University of Oxford), English Nature, the BASC, the National Gamekeepers Organisation and the Game Conservancy Trust.'.
