OPENING OF TURKEY'S ACCESSION NEGOTIATIONS

EDM number 753 in 2005-06, proposed by Keith Vaz on 12/10/2005.

That this House welcomes the opening of the European Union accession negotiations with Turkey that took place on 3rd October; acknowledges that extraordinary willpower was shown by everyone involved in this historic decision; and notes that Turkey has developed rapidly over recent years and that the time was right for wider and deeper commitment by both Turkey and the European Union.

This motion has been signed by a total of 61 MPs.
