European Union Working Time Directive And Scottish Hauliers
EDM number 71 in 2005-06, proposed by Mike Weir on 17/05/2005.
That this House, whilst recognising the potential benefits to many workers of the European Time Directive, believes that the regulations under the directive as applied to the road haulage industry are causing considerable difficulty, particularly to the industry in Northern Scotland; and urges the UK Government urgently to reconsider the regulations and allow flexibility to deal with the difficulties faced by the industry.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
