Climate Change (No. 2)

EDM number 704 in 2005-06, proposed by Rudi Vis on 10/10/2005.

That this House welcomes the cross-party agreement in favour of major cuts in greenhouse gas emissions; believes there is scope to improve the Climate Change Bill presented by a cross-party group of honourable Members shortly before the General Election, by way of an override provision that the UK's per capita emissions of carbon dioxide covered by the Bill shall not be required to fall below two-thirds of the average for the set of countries most recently belonging to the European Union at the representative date; and would welcome the speedy introduction of such a bill with the said provision.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
