Naming Of Durham University As University Of The Year

EDM number 694 in 2005-06, proposed by Roberta Blackman-Woods on 10/10/2005.

That this House congratulates the staff and students of Durham University for being named University of the Year in the Sunday Times annual guide to universities; notes that this reflects the quality of teaching provided and research conducted in many fields of study; further notes that Durham's hi-tech science research is evidence of its world-class quality; believes that Durham's unique collegiate structure plays a large part in low drop out rates and high student satisfaction which contribute to Durham's continuing success; and wishes the University every success for the coming academic year.

This motion has been signed by a total of 29 MPs.
