Thurrock Urban Development Corporation

That this House notes the inordinate delay in publishing the order to transfer to the Thurrock Urban Development Corporation planning powers for strategic development; is dismayed that it is possible this order will now be laid, under the negative resolution procedure, after the commencement of the summer adjournment; considers that it would be unreasonable for this to be done when there is no opportunity for honourable Members to study the detailed contents or pray against it before it comes into force; and therefore calls upon the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure that when it is finally published and laid its provisions include that it shall not come into force until the praying period has expired.
