Welsh Farmers Union And Hunting

EDM number 647 in 2005-06, proposed by Betty Williams on 20/07/2005.

That this House notes that the Welsh Farmers Union has asked the Welsh Assembly Government to request that responsibility for statutory amendments to exemptions to the Hunting Act 2004 be devolved to the Assembly; recalls that the House of Commons has previously rejected the suggestion that the law on hunting should be different in England and Wales; deplores the suggestion that traditional hunting with packs of dogs should be allowed to resume in Wales; and therefore welcomes the statement by Carwyn Jones AM that the Welsh Assembly `has no intention of revisiting this matter'.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
