Councillor Wadsworth

That this House acknowledges that Conservative Councillor Christopher Wadsworth is elected to represent Hareholme ward on Rossendale Borough Council; notes that Councillor Wadsworth's contact details, as issued by Rossendale Borough Council, give an address, telephone number and email address in Brussels; understands that Councillor Wadsworth is now resident in and working in Brussels; considers that it is impossible for Councillor Wadsworth properly to represent the electors of Hareholme ward in Rossendale when he no longer lives or works in the area; and calls upon the Deputy Prime Minister to issue guidance as to whether it is appropriate for Councillor Wadsworth to continue in his position or whether a by-election should be called to ensure that the people of Hareholme ward in Rossendale can be represented by someone who can properly represent their interests.
