London 2012 Olympic Games

EDM number 566 in 2005-06, proposed by Bob Spink on 12/07/2005.

That this House wholeheartedly congratulates Seb Coe and his team on bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012; commends their dedication in producing the winning bid; welcomes the opportunity that the Games bring to the UK and, particularly, to the East of London and Essex, including the creation of employment and improved infrastructure, inspiring schools and children and boosting tourism; and calls on the Government to use the Games as a further reason to regenerate and improve impoverished infrastructure in South Essex and particularly to build Canvey Island's new access road and new Parkway rail station so facilities and hospitality in Castle Point and South Essex can be made available to competitors and visitors alike.

This motion has been signed by a total of 3 MPs.
