Ethnic Minority Inclusion In Sport
EDM number 562 in 2005-06, proposed by Don Foster on 12/07/2005.
That this House notes that it has been 30 years since Arthur Ashe became the first black man to win the Wimbledon singles championship; welcomes the progress of sport in improving inclusiveness and diversity in recent years; regrets that, despite the continued success of ethnic minority sportsmen and women, ethnic minorities remain poorly represented at decision-making levels in most sports; and urges the Government to work with sports governing bodies to improve access to sports for all and at all levels.
This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
