Postal Services

EDM number 560 in 2005-06, proposed by Linda Riordan on 12/07/2005.

That this House welcomes the fact that The Post Office is among the most efficient operators in Europe and one of the very best in the world, delivering record mail volumes averaging 84 million letters a day; notes the continuing benefit of a universal service at uniform tariffs providing the best possible quality of service; regrets that the improvement in delivery has been because the delivery times are now up to 1pm; and calls on the Government to ensure that the early morning delivery of post is reinstated by making the time by which post is normally delivered no later than 10am.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
