Protection Of Parkland
EDM number 555 in 2005-06, proposed by Lorely Burt on 12/07/2005.
That this House believes that parks in the United Kingdom are an integral part of British life and wherever possible they should be preserved for the enjoyment of the local community and for future generations; further believes that councils have a duty to protect parkland; and calls for reform of the current planning law that allows councils to sell off public parkland against the wishes of local people.
