Road Humps

EDM number 53 in 2005-06, proposed by John Mann on 17/05/2005.

That this House believes that the cushion style road hump is of a flawed design, allowing motorbikes to pass through the centre and being more uncomfortable to traverse at 10 mph than at 60 mph; notes that most disabled friendly buses, many fire engines, police cars, ambulances and hearses cannot straddle these road humps; further notes that on-street parking totally undermines the design principles of cushion road humps; and calls for cushion road humps to be banned throughout the country and replaced with sensible, effective traffic calming measures.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
