Crisis Loan Applications

EDM number 525 in 2005-06, proposed by David Hamilton on 06/07/2005.

That this House supports the citizens advice bureaux in calling for changes to crisis loan applications, as evidence shows that claimants and advisers are unable to access the centralised telephone application line, leaving desperate people penniless and without access to emergency funds; and calls for an increase in the number of staff and telephone lines allocated to the service, and the introduction of a dedicated phone line for advisers calling on claimants' behalf.

This motion has been signed by a total of 58 MPs.
