Welsh Manufacturing
EDM number 514 in 2005-06, proposed by Lembit Opik on 06/07/2005.
That this House deeply regrets the factory closures announced by Sony and Wrigley, and that Christie Tyler is now in receivership, causing a worsening crisis in Welsh manufacturing and the economic performance of the nation; believes an audit should be conducted into Welsh manufacturing products to determine the strengths and difficulties facing Welsh industry; further believes decisive governance and a proactive and progressive long-term strategy are vital to overcome Wales's current economic problems; and calls on the Government to include research and development at the heart of such a strategy.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
