Right Of Appeal For International Students
EDM number 489 in 2005-06, proposed by Mark Pritchard on 04/07/2005.
That this House acknowledges the important contribution made by international students to the UK's intellectual and economic strength; notes emerging evidence of a downturn in the popularity of the UK as a study destination; regrets the recent 136 per cent. increase in visa charges; and calls on the Government to reconsider plans to abolish the right of appeal for international students who are refused visas on the grounds that it will damage the UK's international reputation as a provider of world-class higher education.
This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
