Dr Gordon Piller Obe

EDM number 481 in 2005-06, proposed by Ian Gibson on 04/07/2005.

That this House notes with deep regret the sudden death of Dr Gordon Piller OBE, the founder and first director of the Leukaemia Research Fund; recognises that he was the driving force behind the fund from its foundation in 1960 through to his retirement in 1990; notes that he set up the firm foundations and structures by which the fund works today, and that, following his retirement he remained an active supporter of the fund and was a member of the Investments Committee; and expresses its sincere condolences to his widow Janet, and to his family and many friends, within the Leukaemia Research Fund and in the wider community.

This motion has been signed by a total of 31 MPs.
