Carbon Abatement

EDM number 330 in 2005-06, proposed by Desmond Turner on 15/06/2005.

That this House warmly welcomes the announcement by the Energy Minister of funding for a carbon abatement programme for cleaner burning of gas and coal with carbon sequestration and of a hydrogen fuelled fuel cell programme; believes that the latter is the opportunity to begin commercial application of hydrogen power to road transport; and calls on the Department of Trade and Industry to consider further measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from transport by promoting the availability of fuels with a high biomass content such as bio-ethanol.

This motion has been signed by a total of 62 MPs.
