Future Of Adult Neurosurgery
EDM number 2735 in 2005-06, proposed by Elfyn Llwyd on 12/10/2006.
That this House condemns the proposal put forward by Health Commission Wales to move adult neurosurgery away from Morriston Hospital to UHW Cardiff because implementing the proposal would worsen patient access to those services, particularly for patients living in mid and west Wales, would fail to take advantage of multi-disciplinary services uniquely available in Morriston which may be utilised in combined operations, undermines the development of medical services in Swansea as a regional centre of excellence, and ignores existing proposals to cut hospital services in mid and west Wales as well as continuing difficulties experienced by the ambulance service.
