Beth-Berith Wildlife Haven

EDM number 2620 in 2005-06, proposed by Mark Williams on 20/07/2006.

That this House celebrates the work of Boqer-ore Rayner and Rebekah Sturdey in establishing and developing the Beth-Berith Wildlife Haven, at Llwynygroes, near Tregaron in Ceredigion; notes that the British Trust for Ornithology named Beth-Berith Wildlife Haven the richest bird garden on record, home to 83 species, including the mute swan, goosander, water rail, yellowhammer, meadow pipit, skylark and the first sighting of the corn bunting in Ceredigion; further notes that Environment Agency Wales studies show that the haven forms the nucleus of the local water vole population; and calls on the Government to recognise the importance of protecting rare species, and to ensure that adequate training is provided to those who strive to support and protect them.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
