Scotland Says Make Poverty History Campaign

EDM number 252 in 2005-06, proposed by David Marshall on 06/06/2005.

That this House congratulates the Sunday Mail newspaper on its campaign against world poverty; supports its petition calling on G8 leaders to end the scandal that sees 50,000 people, 30,000 of them children, die of poverty every day and which calls upon them to promise 0.7 per cent. of their nations' wealth to saving the lives of the world's poor, to cancel the debts, promote trade justice and provide better aid for poor countries; endorses its call to the people of Scotland to sign up to Scotland Says Make Poverty History - Not Next Year, Not In 10 Years ... But Now; and hopes that hundreds of thousands will do so.

This motion has been signed by a total of 32 MPs.
