WOMEN'S INSTITUTE PACKAGING DAY OF ACTION

That this House commends the National Federation of Women's Institutes for its Packaging Day of Action, which it marked on 20th June 2006; notes with approval that the National Federation of Women's Institutes has called for an end to unnecessary and excessive packaging and a move towards using compostable and recyclable packing where necessary; and congratulates the Cumbria-Westmorland Federation of Women's Institutes for producing re-usable cotton carrier bags and jute trolley bags for the use of members and non-members alike.
