Local Safeguarding Children Boards

EDM number 2409 in 2005-06, proposed by Graham Stuart on 20/06/2006.

That this House welcomes the establishment of local safeguarding children boards and their role in co-ordinating services from different agencies and in securing the protection and welfare of all children and young people in a local authority locality; congratulates East Riding of Yorkshire Council on recognising the vulnerability of young people stationed in military training centres by inviting a representative from the Defence School of Transport at Leconfield to sit on the board; and calls on all local authorities with a military training centre in their locality to invite a representative from that centre to join their local board.
