National Talking Newspapers And Magazines

EDM number 2286 in 2005-06, proposed by Bob Russell on 05/06/2006.

That this House notes that National Talking Newspapers and Magazines is the only service providing alternative formats of national newspapers and magazines for the UK's blind and partially-sighted population; congratulates the charity on its work to provide equal access to news and leisure for those who cannot read or have difficulty reading the printed word; is concerned that the service receives no public funding, relies entirely on voluntary donations and came close to closure during 2005 as a result of charity fatigue; and calls on all hon. and right hon. Members to support and promote the charity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 63 MPs.
