New Eu Aid Programme

That this House welcomes the agreement signed in Brussels on 24th May 2005 which in five years' time will raise the EU's aid to poor countries with an extra £14 billion; congratulates the richest nations in the EU on their new spending target on aid at a minimum of 0.51 per cent. of their national wealth; and urges the world's richest nations to sign up to a single plan of aid to be signed at the G8 Summit at Gleneagles in July.
