Stretch Limousines

EDM number 2080 in 2005-06, proposed by Graham Stringer on 03/05/2006.

That this House notes that it is estimated that by the end of this year there will be 11,000 stretch limousines operating in the UK; further notes that many of these vehicles can and do carry more than eight people for which they need a Public Service Vehicle licence and a certificate of initial fitness; further notes that to date no such certificates have been issued; therefore calls on the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency to carry out evening inspections; and further calls on the Government to investigate this area and to introduce new regulations which will protect the public.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
